Everything Back But You

I’m walking around the city with My Uncle Nate. I hadn’t seen him since I was sixteen and leaving for Coruscant to start my training to be Jedi. So we needed some reconnecting. Nate’s holding my hand so I know we’re still close like before. We just hadn’t seen each other in so long.

The mix of wind and tiny snow flakes cuts at my skin like a letter opener.

“The council says we’re looking for a Sith Lord.” Nate exclaims. He hasn’t changed much.

I nod. “That’s right.”

“General Grievous…. Sound familiar to you?”

“Does he ever? The dude is psycho I tell ya. My roommate, Anakin and my Master Obi-Wan Kenobi had to deal with him when the war first started. Things got pretty bad.” I say.

We sit down outside the Starbuck’s with cocoa. The hot taste of the cream and chocolate is soothing, even if I burn my tongue.

“And I’m helping you with this why?” Nate asks raising an eyebrow.

“Because…” I begin forgetting the reason. I shouldn’t have been doodling in that class.

I finally remember. “You have one of the greatest ships in the galaxy right now! Apparently you know what you’re doing.”

I stand throwing away my cup. I slip my hands into my pockets trying to take away the sting the weather was giving them.

I walk toward my hotel.

“I’m gonna go.” I tell Nate as we both turn our separate ways. He waves goodbye and I walk into the warm hotel.

I open the door to my room to see an old face.

“JAMIN!?” I shout.

The Young and Confused

It’s almost noon. I eat lunch alone in my room and begin packing.
Thankfully Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t anywhere near Coruscant. If they were Chester couldn’t stay at the temple.
I slowly begin to slip my huge gray shaded jacket over my shoulders.
I turn my head to see Chester sleeping like a baby ewok on the couch. That distracts me.
I tie my hair up with a piece of cloth and lean over to kiss Chester on the forehead. His eyes open slowly.
I give him that look like I have to leave. Chester sits up finally. He wraps his arms around me.
“Don’t go.” He whispers.
I smile. “I wish I didn’t have to. But, its Master Yoda’s orders, I have to go to Hoth. I’ll send you Holo Mail all the time I promise.”
Chester lets go of my hands slowly letting me walk away.
I don’t turn back. I want to have that romantic moment where the girl runs back wrapping her arms around the love of her life kissing him and never leaving his side again.
But, this is reality and that doesn’t exist.
“Jinx?” Chester asks me.
I stop in my steps, still not turning to see his face.
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
Tears begin to form in my eyes.
I finally snap and run back into Chester’s arms.
“I love you too.” I whisper.
I only hug him and turn around and leave, for real this time.

A Hard Farewell

Regardless of the wonderful weather here at the temple now, I have to go on a mission on Hoth.
You heard right… The bloody freezing planet!
I was told I was supposed to meet my uncle there. One of my only family members left.
At this point I basically should consider Tash, Chester, Anakin, Kriss, George, Obi-Wan and Phobia my family.
My uncle is only four and a half years older than I am so we are actually pretty close.
But, not close enough…

-

I wake in a sweat. I’m not sure why. I hadn’t dreamt anything. Just slept.

Yoda let Chester stay in one of the spare rooms. I was surprised he event trusted him.
Instead of Chester sleeping in his own room, let alone his own bed, I find him sleeping on the coach of my Quarters.

I don’t say anything.
I run my fingers through his blond spiky hair.
He opens his eyes a bit looking pissed off.
We sit in silence for a moment than we begin giggling.

“Go get dressed.” I demand tossing a pair of black Dickie’s pants at him.
Chester only nods pulling the pants on along with a white muscle shirt.

I dress as well in the lightest robes I had, since it was actually getting quite warm on Coruscant.

“So what was it you wanted to talk to me about?” Chester asks sitting next to the fountains outside the temple with me.

“Chester… I know I just got home but…. The council wants me to go to Hoth on a Jedi Mission.” I say rationally.

“WHAT!? You JUST got here! Are you saying I have to stay here by myself?” Chester shouts in hurt.

“You won’t be alone.” I knew he meant I’d be gone making him feel alone. “You’ll have your best friend. You’ll have Tash. You’ll have George.” My face lights up. “Maybe you could even meet some new people.” I say.

This doesn’t really lighten up Chester’s spirits.

I kiss his cheek tenderly. “Don’t worry I’ll be back before you even know I’m gone.” I whisper.

Now he smiles making me feel okay again.

Another Happy Landing

I awake the next morning almost forgetting where I was.
I see Chester sitting in the corner staring at me with a smile.
“Good morning.” I say with a stretch.
“’Morning sleepy head.” Chester said kissing my cheek.

After breakfast I realize what I was forgetting.
Where was Chester going to stay?

The five of us sit on the coach eating our breakfast.
“Hey where is Chester going to stay?” I ask, my mouth still full of cereal.
“Don’t worry about it. I called Master Yoda he says he welcome to stay at the temple.” George tells me.
A sigh of relief makes it way out of my mouth causing Chester to wrap an arm around my shoulder.
I blush staring at the floor.
-

Before I know it I’m asleep in a huge armchair with Chester.
I hear a slight crash in the front of the ship causing us to wake.
“What the hell was that?” Chester asked in a cranky tone running his hands through his spiky hair.
“We’re here.” George says sitting on the coach along with Tash.
“Seriously?” Chester, Tash and I ask all at the same time.
George nods. “Seriously.”

So, I’m home on Coruscant along with Tash, George and ChazyChaz.

True...

My heart sinks deep down into my stomach as I realize what I’ve done.
I knew I couldn’t look at Chester so I just looked away at the wall.
“Jinx?”
I than read his mind, he was concerned that I was mad or unhappy.
“I’m fine.”
Chester nodded.
“Is this real?” I asked. Now I was the one concerned.
“In the flesh.” Chester responded in a flat tone.
“But, Chester?”
“Yeah Jinx?” A crooked smile almost spread across his face. I could feel it.
“I want to take this slow.” I say grabbing Chester’s hand.
“So…. You’re saying yes?” He said. This time a smile did appear on his face.
“Yes. But, I’m not saying I love you yet though.” I whisper.
I had to digest everything that happened.
-
Almost two weeks pass.
I walk inside Chester’s room sitting next to him on his bed. He was laying down staring at the ceiling.
Again, we sat and talked for hours and hours.
Chester leaned forward kissing me.
He wrapped his arms around my neck slowly.
I was ready.
“I love you.” I whisper getting lost in his eyes.
“I love you too.” Chester responded smiling along with me.
I kissed his lips again.

Saved and Believe Me

A few days past finally Tash came.
"Jinx!" She shouted happily throwing her arms around me.
A door squeaked open slowly. It was Neddal.
Tash and George were angered.
Tash threw my lightsaber to me. I barely remembered it at this time.
I decided not to try to control its power.
I stood quietly.
Before I knew it Tash was pushed threw the thin window.
I sat the wrest of the night without speaking a word.
All the others were fallen to sleep.
I stared down to Chester with a small crooked smile planting across my face.
I just wanted to go home.

-

Some time past and we stayed on the ship.
As Tash sat on her laptop I began kaufing up blood in the sink.
Chester ran into the kitchen holding my fall.
Everything was a blur.

-

Late that night I had a long nice chat with my best friend.
Than of course... I had to talk to Chester.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded slowly.
"I'm really sorry about all I put you threw." I whispered trying not to fall into his eyes.
"You didn't. I put it onto myself."
"How?" I questioned. What the hell was he talking about?
"I tortured my heart. Being with someone I couldn't be with."
Oh now I understood.
"We could Chaz. Believe me."
He raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure of this?" Chester asked.
I nodded to him.
Chester leaned forward and I gave in.
We shared a kiss.
